Pneumatic Diesel Fuel Additive Dosing for Bulk Fuel Transport
BLEND™ replaces hand-poured additive with a closed pneumatic system that meters precisely, blends diesel fuel additive at the point of fuel dump, and keeps drivers out of contact with concentrated chemicals.
Two years in development • Pilot-proven across 350,000+ gallons of diesel • 135+ loads • Built by AlumiTank

See It In Action
A complete dose-to-dispense cycle takes minutes. Watch the system work end-to-end.
The Challenge
For decades, hand-pouring additive was simply how the industry worked — because nothing better existed. But the costs of that approach add up quietly: in driver exposure, in inconsistent fuel quality, in incidents that didn't have to happen. BLEND was built for fleets ready to move past it.
Driver-to-driver, shift-to-shift, jug-to-jug — manual rates drift. Some loads get more than they need; some get less. Across thousands of loads, that variance compounds.
Hand-pouring concentrated additive means skin contact, inhalation risk, and SDS compliance burden every shift. The closed-system alternative was rare — until now.
When a customer site reports a fuel quality issue, manual workflows can't show what was actually dosed into that load. BLEND meters every dose visibly.
Open containers spill. Spills create cleanup costs, regulatory paperwork, and customer-site impact. A closed system removes the failure mode entirely.
How It Works
Three steps. Two to three minutes per load. The framework has been the project scope from day one — refined through five major revisions and direct feedback from drivers and technicians in the field.
Safely Carry Product to be Accurately Metered
Driver transfers the precise dose from the upper holding tank to the lower propulsion tank — gravity-fed, watching a clear sight window with a crisp scale. Seconds, not minutes.
Clean, Easy, Fast Connect to System
Driver attaches the injection coupler with a dry brake connection at the dispensing port. No open containers. No hand-pouring. No chemical contact. Connection is fast and second-nature.
Precise, Directly Injected at the Point of Fuel Dump
Compressed air from the tractor's air system propels the metered dose into the fuel stream during discharge. Flow-proportional injection. Operator monitors the sight window. Done.
Engineered to Five Requirements
BLEND was designed in close partnership with one of the country's largest fleet operators. Every design decision was tested against five operational requirements — defined by drivers, refined by technicians.
Closed system eliminates chemical handling and operator fatigue.
Fully self-contained. No spills, no drips, no contaminated work surfaces.
Numbered 1 through 7 on the trailer. Just follow the steps in order.
Clear sight window over a crisp scale. The driver sees the dose, every time.
Metering takes seconds. Connecting is second-nature. Blending happens during fuel flow.
Pilot Case Study
Three pilot units ran across two shifts at a top-10 US convenience-store fuel retailer. Five system revisions driven by direct driver and technician feedback. Engineering partnership with one of America's largest fuel trailer manufacturers throughout. Now in production — the pilot fleet has placed an initial fleet-wide order.
| Before BLEND™ | After BLEND™ |
|---|---|
| Treat rate: 1:3,000 — drifted load to load, driver to driver | Treat rate: 1:1,000 — hit target on every recorded load |
| Drivers measuring and pouring concentrated additive on every load | Closed system. Zero direct chemical contact. |
| No verifiable per-load dosing visibility | Every dose visibly metered through clear sight window |
| 5–10 minutes per load handling additive | 2–3 minutes per load — system runs while driver does other tasks |
The pilot validated what we built BLEND to do: deliver the right dose, every load, every driver — with the audit trail to prove it. Two years of engineering. Five revisions. Direct feedback from the drivers and technicians actually using it. Now the system is in production, and our launch partner is moving from three pilot units to fleet-wide deployment.
